Marc Geiger’s SaveLive Changes Name to Gate 52

SaveLive, the platform launched in 2020 during the pandemic to assist independent venue owners and promote concerts in secondary and tertiary markets, has changed its name to Gate 52.

The company was co-founded by John Fogelman and Marc Geiger “to bring scalable services and advantages to independent venue owners and secondary markets,” according to a press release announcing its launch. “We partner with iconic venues and promoters to grow their brand and business.”

The name Gate 52 has multiple meanings, company officials tell Billboard, but it is rooted in the principles of the new age Human Design practice created by Ra Uru Hu during what he’s described as a period of divine revelation. What emerged was a “holistic self-knowledge system” combining mysticism, ancient philosophy, quantum physics and more to create a “energetic blueprint” called a BodyGraph. Within the BodyGraph, Gate 52, also known as the Gate of Stillness, represents the energy of concentration, focus and inner calm and provides the pressure to remain still and concentrate, allowing for deep assessment and reflection.

Gate 52 currently operates 14 venues including the Tower Theater and Criterion in Oklahoma City, Okla.; the Vic, Riviera and Park West in Chicago; the Golden Gate Theater in Monterey, Calif.; the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, Calif.; JJ’s Live in Fayetteville, Ark.; The Factory in St. Louis; the Rave and Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee; and Electric City in Buffalo, N.Y.

The company also maintains a booking and concert promotion network of more than 70 unique venues across 55 markets in 40 U.S. states, ranging in capacity from 500 to 9,000. Gate 52 offers a variety of services, including talent buying, marketing, operations, private events, sponsorship, finance and ticketing.
