You can try out the Nintendo Switch 2 in April — here’s how

Attendees at Gamescom 2023 test out games on the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo is hosting a series of events in April to show off its newly debuted console, the Nintendo Switch 2. The company published a short, hardware-focused sizzle reel on Thursday, but intends to give the public a closer look at the console; so close that players will be able to go hands-on themselves at a slate of events held around the globe. Nintendo is calling these events the “Nintendo Switch 2 Experience.”

Details about the event are slim at this time, but Nintendo has published a list of the host cities and dates. Here are the locations and dates, straight from Nintendo:

Nintendo said a Nintendo account is required to participate in the hands-on event. Registration for the events begins on Friday at 3 p.m. EST. Interested parties have until Jan. 26 to register for tickets. People who register during the open period will be entered into a “randomly selected drawing,” per the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience website.

“When you register, you can select the number of tickets you are requesting and the session you’d like to attend,” Nintendo said in an FAQ on the website. “To register for the drawing, you must be at least 18 years old and have a Nintendo Account. If you are registering as a group, each member of the group must have a Nintendo Account that is linked to the same Nintendo Account family group.” Groups can register together with up to six people.

What will you be able to play at the event? That’s unclear. But Nintendo did seemingly tease a new Mario Kart game, which could be shown.
