Pixar’s first original TV show looks like a funky hodgepodge of styles

We finally have a trailer for Pixar’s first original TV show, Win or Lose, and it looks just as quirky and fun as first promised — which was just over four years ago.

Win or Lose follows a middle school co-ed softball team, with each episode telling the same events from a different character’s perspective. And from the trailer, that’s expressed through shifts in art style and splashes of magical realism, like a whispering sweat blob and metaphorical armor. Pixar’s whimsy is all over this trailer.

Win or Lose was first announced in 2020, with a release date of 2023. However, the show kept getting pushed. Most recently Disney swapped out Win or Lose’s release date with Dream Productions, the Inside Out spinoff that premiered last December.

The show also made news last December, when Disney acknowledged that it had cut a transgender storyline from the show. The character in question is still the show, but lines about their gender identity have been removed.

Win or Lose hits Disney Plus on Feb. 19.
